Reading a position over time
How do I see the whole story of one stock?

In this lesson
- The position chart puts every event for one stock on its price line. So you can see what you did, when, and at what price. Each marker is one event, and the lines show the price and the cost basis.
- The chart has four groups you can switch on and off. The groups are Price & Cost, Trades, Options Activity and Dividends. Turn some off when the chart is busy.
- Cost basis is an average that changes each time you buy more. A price above your first buy can still be below your average, or the other way round.
The example: the story of Keurig
You open the KDP position page and leave only Options Activity switched on. You see that you sold calls on Keurig four times, twelve contracts in total.
Then you switch all groups back on and look at the cost-basis line. When you buy more in September 2025, the average drops from $29.91 to $27.83.
In June 2026 the shares are sold at $30. That is above the average of $27.83, which is why the sale is a gain.

Where to find it in Rendity
Open a stock under Positions, for example KDP. The position chart shows price, cost basis, trades, options and dividends on one line. The groups Price & Cost, Trades, Options Activity and Dividends switch parts on and off.
