I understand investing.
I grew up in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony). At the private bank Bankhaus C. L. Seeliger, I trained as a Bankkaufmann (a bank apprenticeship), together with a dual study program. There I learned how money and trust are connected.
“You can be good at technology, but you have to understand how value is created, so that your skills do something good.”

I build software.
Even while I was still in school, I earned money developing software: websites, a billing system, a booking platform. After the Abitur (German high school diploma) came a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Banking and Financial Services, an MBA, a master’s in Wirtschaftsinformatik (information systems), and a doctorate in Information Technology.
I write Rendity myself, in the evenings and on weekends. I can trace every number you see back to the transaction it comes from.

Why I built Rendity.
I built Rendity at the suggestion of my brother Dominikus. Dominikus teaches value investing and has already helped thousands of people on their path to financial freedom. In November 2025, I took part in his training for the first time. The principles he has laid out made intuitive sense to me. So I adopted his method into my own investment strategy.
Dominikus told me there were two problems:
- In Interactive Brokers, it is hard to see and follow how the investment strategy is performing. For this, he recommends the open-source software Portfolio Performance, but it was not written for options trading. Entering everything by hand is tedious, and things often get forgotten.
- Interactive Brokers has no German branch and does not produce a tax report for Germany. At least that was the case for many years. The tax advisor needs a lot of time to work through all the transactions and prepare the tax report.
So I took it on as a challenge to solve both problems. Rendity is also my way of working with the new tools of artificial intelligence, and I learn a lot while building it.
A project like this takes more than one person. I am grateful to everyone who tried Rendity over several months and gave me feedback again and again.

What matters to me.
- ResponsibilityA system belongs to the people who rely on it. I treat it as if it were my own.
- TransparencyI built Rendity for myself, so that I have an overview of my own investments.
- Usefulness firstI first ask how I can be useful, and then I choose the technology.
- German rootsI work thoroughly and carefully. Germany has a good reputation for quality. It makes me proud, and I carry it on.
