In this lesson

  1. The Cash Ledger is the account statement of your broker cash. Every amount in or out has its own line, with the balance after each line.
  2. A month runs from the starting balance to the ending balance. Every movement of the month sits in between, just like a bank statement. Lines that belong to a trade link to the stock.
  3. Each currency has its own ledger. The ledger never converts, so dollars stay dollars. The dashboard adds both currencies together in your display currency.

The example: October 2026 in the USD ledger

You open the Cash Ledger in USD and choose October 2026. The starting balance on October 1 is $18,606.82.

On October 5 a Meta dividend of $5.25 comes in, and the US tax on it, 79 cents, goes out. On October 20 you sell an Apple call and receive $418.95 after fees. The AAPL link on that line takes you to the stock.

The ending balance is $19,030.23. The EUR tab shows the deposits and the money changed into dollars.

Where to find it in Rendity

On the Cash Ledger page, with one tab per currency, here USD and EUR. If the Cash Balance on the Dashboard surprises you, the ledger shows every line that led there.
