In this lesson

  1. The Calculation card is a bridge from your first deposit to today. Each cause sits on its own line and is added or subtracted. The last line is exactly today’s value.
  2. Deposits are performance-neutral. A deposit makes the account bigger. You have not earned anything with it yet, so Rendity marks it performance-neutral.
  3. Unrealized gains are in the bridge too. They are real today, but not yet locked in.

The example: from €30,000 to today

The bridge starts with your first deposit, €30,000. In March 2025, €25,000 of new money comes in, and Rendity marks that line performance-neutral.

Next come the stock gains, including the sale of 30 Google shares at $347.50. Then come the Zoetis loss, the dividends and the lines for fees, taxes and currency. At the bottom is today’s value.

If you choose a single month, for example April 2026, the card shows the same bridge from starting value to ending value. Imagine a month when your shares are down. Together with Monthly Returns, you see here what you still earned on top.

Where to find it in Rendity

On Performance, in the Calculation card. Use the period picker to choose a single month. The same page has Monthly Returns and the portfolio value chart with invested capital, where the area between the two lines is what the account earned.
