In this lesson

  1. IBKR withholds no German tax. IBKR is a foreign broker, so you declare your capital income yourself in Anlage KAP. Rendity prepares the lines in euros, as they appear on the form.
  2. Line 19 collects all foreign capital income. This includes share gains, option premiums and dividends. Line 20 shows the gains from shares, and line 41 the US withholding tax on dividends that can be credited.
  3. Every number can be traced back to its transactions. Behind each line you open the details and see the transactions that make up the amount.
  4. The report is a preliminary draft for private accounts with euro as the base currency. Have your tax adviser check the figures. A company account belongs with the company's tax adviser.

The example: tax year 2025

Imagine your partner does the taxes in your home. You open the tax report for 2025 together and see the lines of Anlage KAP in euros.

In June 2025 the account sold 4 Mastercard shares with a gain of $567.80. Rendity converts the gain to euros at the day's rate, and it shows up in line 20.

Line 19 holds all of the account's foreign capital income, with the share gains, the option premiums from Apple and Keurig, and the dividends. Line 41 shows the US withholding tax on the dividends. When you open the details behind a line, you see the transactions behind it.

The report is marked as preliminary. Losses from shares can only be offset against gains from shares.
