In this lesson

  1. Which plan fits depends on what you trade. Seed is for stocks and ETFs and stays free, with no payment details. Sprout is for covered calls, Tree for anyone who also sells puts, and Orchard for bonds, T-bills or futures.
  2. You can try every paid plan free for 61 days. Sprout costs €9 a month, Tree €19 and Orchard €39, all including VAT. If you pay yearly, you get one month free, and only the yearly plan includes the tax report for the German Anlage KAP.
  3. The plan check looks at everything you have ever traded. After the first import, Rendity checks your whole account. If something is outside your plan, Rendity shows you which plan fits, and your data stays saved.
  4. If you later trade something your plan does not cover, you get a grace period. The grace period runs before anything is locked. You are only charged when you choose a plan yourself.

The example: an account with covered calls

Imagine your account holds stocks and you write covered calls on them. In the settings, under Plan & billing, you see that the account is on Sprout, at €9 a month.

Under Change plan, Rendity shows for each plan whether it covers everything you have traded. For this account, Sprout, Tree and Orchard cover everything. Seed is not listed, because Seed does not cover calls. The smallest plan that fits is Sprout, and the account is already on it.

If the account had also sold puts, Sprout would say that it does not cover puts. Then Tree would be the smallest plan that fits. An account with stocks only stays on Seed, free and without payment details.

Where to find it in Rendity

In Rendity, click Settings at the bottom left, then Plan & billing. Your plan is shown there, and under Change plan you see what the other plans would cover.
