In this lesson
- Fees cost a little on every trade. Every trade costs about a dollar in commission, and currency conversions cost a little too. Rendity shows the total on the Calculation card in the Fees line.
- Withholding tax is kept back from US dividends. The US keeps 15 % before the money reaches the account. In Daily P&L, Rendity shows the tax as its own part of the bar.
- The exchange rate changes what your US stocks are worth in euros. When the dollar weakens, the same US stocks are worth fewer euros, even if their price does not move. Rendity shows this effect on the Calculation card in the FX line.
The example: a Visa dividend and the Calculation lines
On 2 September 2025, Visa pays a dividend. The US keeps 15 % before the money reaches the account. When you hover over that day's bar in Daily P&L, you see the tax as its own part.
The Calculation card has a Fees line. Every trade cost about a dollar in commission, and the currency conversions cost a little too. Each one is small, and across all trades it adds up.
The money came in as euros and was changed into dollars. What the exchange rate has changed in the portfolio since then is in the FX line. Look at these lines once a year.

Where to find it in Rendity
On the Performance page, the Calculation card lists the Fees and FX lines separately. You see the withholding tax on a dividend in Daily P&L when you hover over that day's bar.
